My Differentiator

Nice to meet you! The first part my career was spent in public education. I taught middle school, high school, and college courses for fifteen years. I enjoyed the work, and always created my own content for the classroom. I was able to leverage my instructional design, facilitation, and leadership skills into a new career path in corporate learning over the last thirteen years, and have been everything from a "one-woman show" to a leader of a team of eighteen. Learning is my passion and I love helping others discover and/or hone their talents!

One of my superpowers is connecting with people quickly and easily, enabling me to build strong relationships. I truly enjoy interacting with fellow colleagues and partnering to enhance the culture and environment of the workplace. Additionally, I have served as an informal and formal mentor or coach for many colleagues over the years, and have received  positive feedback on the way I approach coaching - it's imperative to treat people like human beings and focus on practical application of new skills!

My Future Role

I excel at balancing strategy and execution; moving from big picture to daily work. It is key for me to have some strategic oversight and ownership of the roadmap for myself and/or my team. Because I build solid relationships with people across the organizations where I work, I am comfortable working in a variety of settings and with all types of audiences. My favorite work to do is Talent Development, specifically leadership development and performance management; but my experience and expertise lies in a holistic approach to Learning and Development.

I am learning new and interesting things in this course that are expanding my understanding and sparking my curiosity.
